The Madison Vineyards were established in 1980 with 70 vines. In the following three years 1800 vines were planted, consisting of both French hybrids and viniferas.

The village of El Barranco, where our vineyards are located, is in San Miguel county. The vineyards border the Pecos River and our red soil ranges from clay to sandy clay.

Our winery began production in 1985 with a total output of 200 gallons. The production has increased to a modest 4000 gallons. We produce award winning dry and semi-sweet wines. We work together on the wine with occasional help from our daughters, Lisa and Heather.

This portion of New Mexico is truly beautiful. You will undoubtedly enjoy its charm and rich history. We welcome visitors at our tasting room. Come visit us, enjoy our wines, and browse through our gallery.
